My son was 3 yr old when he jumped off a step and fractured his leg then about 2 months ago he fell on the school playground and broke his arm. I am really worried if he has weak bones. What can i do for him to have healthy bones, any special diet or something??

i would suggest please ensure he have two glasses of milk , one bowl of curd and 20- 30 gms of paneer. these are good source of calcium. These days children barely eat nutritious food .

Hi Nishtha, fractures and injuries happen to growing children. do not worry. Give him a balanced diet that includes lots of calcium rich foods, fruits, and grains that will boost his bone health and build stamina. You can also check with your doctor on starting some calcium supplements. hope this helps.

Hi Nishtha, hope your son is feeling better. For weak bones, nothing can work better than a milk-rich and a balanced diet. Milk as well as milk products such as paneer, cheese, yogurt are a must. Vitamin D is another supplement your son should be getting,so try to include orange juice, eggs in his diet and exposure to sun via outdoor play is also necessary. If you are comfortable with giving him non-vegetarian food, then fish and chicken can help strengthen his bones. Hope this helps.

Hi Nishtha, apart from calcium rich diet, get your child Vitamin D checked. Expose him to morning sunlight daily.
