hi Anitha Shetty! children at this age have many distractions be it TV , gadgets, extra curricular activities, mobiles, games . unfortunately, these distractions can't be completely done away with but we can definitely work on improving their concentration. u could do it in a fun way by involving your child in games such as u could mark a paragraph in newspaper and she needs to underline all the 'a's in it in a stipulated time span. . next day it could be another vowel and time limit could be further reduced to complete the task. or giving her instructions to go to a particular page and circle all 'the's in 30 seconds. listening to soothing background music also helps . or even hitting the ball hung from Ceiling repeatedly or catching the ball tossed in the air. even playing basketball should help. u could give her instructions which needs to follow such as 'open your arms" and " close" and repeating it open/close, and then confusing her close/close. so she has to focus on your instructions . so all these games would help her focus better. Anitha u could try other Innovative methods also to help her. please ensure her study room is clutter free, there is minimum of distractions around while she is studying. she is relaxed and not tired and her sleep cycle is not disturbed and she has a good sound sleep of 8 to 9 hours everyday. also she has a healthy balanced nutritious diet . hope this helps!
