Hi, My daughter is 4. 5 yrs. N she don't wanted to study at all. How much I try to make her understand that its necessary to keep practicing at home bt talk abt study irritates her. I always told her play what u want ..how you want bt plz give me only 1 hr so that we can do some practice at home. I was normal strict mother bt now I trying to be little gentle wid her , bec her responses made me upset n I ended up scolding n slapping her which I don't wanted to do. Plz help me how to handle this situation bec I totally left her with her own.

yes, its true.. we use old method to teach them which is very boring for everyone. I do use flash card bt her attention spam is too little. my major concern is writing part which she's don't want to do any how. may be she's not ready for it. bt she has to write alphabet's in notebook. Due to this she's lacking interest in studies. she says straight forward " I don't want to study. I don't like it". how can I encourage her on writing part? I tried through colors , tried rainbow writing bt all in vain. alphabets irritates her.

I had the same issue with my son 3. 5 years, but after a lot of research and readings on net that I realized that I was trying to teach him in the old uninterested way which he found very boring. I have now switched to an engaged mode of teaching and he is responding well to it. For example, earlier when I taught him alphabets, I used to sit with him and ask him to read or repeat the alphabets with me. He used to repeat it, but never retained it .Also, I found it very difficult to get his attention after 10 mins or so. Now I cut crafts of that alphabet shape with him, or I draw that shape in a paper n I ask him to color it or ask him to arrange the cut outs in d sequence or ask him to find that alphabet in the story books n so on. He is now able to retain the learnings and recognize the alphabets or countings when asked later. Also during the play time, I race with him. To begin the race, instead of ready steady go I say let's count till 10 and then run and see who comes first. So I try embedding the teaching through out the day in an engaged fashion and it's working well so far.
