kids r always scared to try new things. stop giving liquid n semi liquid things . give parataha aloo paratha ,veggies paratha ,make idli, chilla, sabzi roti they will have to chew. these things can't be swallowed .

as one mother already suggested ... kids always scared to learn new things ... so you ask them to eat solid food by giving them .... but not suddenly introduce step by step .. for best results visit questy. in from your browser and search you will defiantly get good solution...

Sapna ..does your baby has molars n premolars yet? gums are required for chewing... and at 14 n 18 months ...I am not so sure that all babies develop them.. babies can use front teeth for cutting only... if they only are present, how can anyone teach them to chew?? at max you give them semisolids or easily dissolvable solids like soft French fries or other finger foods.. and they will roll n stern the food item in their mouth with tongue movement for taste.... which will later help them to develop healthy chewing.
