my toddler not talking in phrases or sentences

1 to 3 years

my son is 2. 8 and he has not started talking yet. he tells his needs either by pointing or by words of his own language. he calls me n tells what he wants, like "amma, key" and points to the key hanging on the wall. he prefers monosyllabic words and learns that faster. i feel that he is trying to talk but in his own language .he is not admitted to playschool yet. he tells colors correctly but not with correct pronunciation. he says ABCD when we tell him one by one and numbers too. he is Eveready to do whatever we ask him to do like closing the door, putting objects in place if we ask him to do. when we call his name he responds. The only problem is that he has not formed two words sentences by this age. I am terribly worried if there is any concern for autism in my child. please help me and clarify my doubt with your opinions.

hi Haynes Jibu John ! it doesn't seem to be signs of autism if language development delay is the only concern. u could talk a lot with yr child, read simple three lettered words books with pictures,. label and repeat everyday objects names.. don't give in to signs or gestures. help him make sentences and praise or reward him with a star or smiley sticker when he tries to talk . also please do consult an expert. here is a blog u would find useful. https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/tips-to-expand-your-toddlers-language-skills/3015?ptref=sa0l000030g02br
