My child is very active and used to be very happy while going school. But on his annual day we saw him crying on the stage. After that the next time he went to school he vomited, school authorities called me and i took my son home. The next day he again visited the school he vomited, again school authorities called me and told me to take him home, I requested school authorities again and again not to send him home, but they force me to took him home at last i took him home. Since that day it is 1 month above, when ever child goes to school he cries. My child is very intelligent but can not speak proper sentence, he knows where to go and where not to.  I do not know what to do, kindly guide me please.

Hi Priya, how old is ur son? Maybe something bad has happened in school on his annual day. Try to get out what actually happened that day. Don't force. Make him talk about it when he is on a good mood. Then take the issue to the student counsellor in school. Or talk to his school teacher. Do not get angry. Try to get what they tell. But when the child is intimidated totally not to go to school, better put him in another school. The change of environment will definitely help.

Hi, Priya , i'm also in the similar situation as yours. My daughter is 3 plus was going to a playschool, refuses to go its been 3 weeks , she also had the same episodes of crying and vomiting, i'm giving her time and not forcing her. I'm looking out for other alternatives now.

Hi Priya! It is indeed a difficult situation for a parent to take a decision. I wud like to know few things before giving my views on it. Hope u wud share this information. One: for how long has he been going to school? Two: was he in a lead role on stage where he was expected to perform well? Three: has there been any other change in behaviour reported by teachers? Four: do u see a change in his behaviour at home? Five; has he ever shared with u why he does not want to go to school? Six: behaviour of teachers now when he goes to school? We need to see what exactly has happened that a child who was initially happy going to school all of a sudden wud not want to go to school. May be change of school is not a solution to this problem and we need to go in flashback to find answers.
