Lakshmi I do understand your concerns. is it possible to keep two names. one pet name (can be kept according to numerology) to be used only by family members& near and dear ones and other which she would be using for all record purposes and will be recognized by this name( according to shastra). hope this helps!

Lakshmi if u ask me, name should be meaningful, so that tomorrow if your child asks u the meaning , u should be able to tell her and she should also feel proud of her name. please do what makes u feel satisfied . the motto is when u call her name, and when she hears her name u both should feel good about it. tkcare!

Hello Lakshmi, if you are interested in following the conventional way of naming ceremony.. then l would like to tell you that in the process of "naamkaran", the priest will ask you to keep a name for your baby according to the birth star of the baby. And we will not be allowed to utter that name openly. So that part is over... And for good name and nick name you can follow any name of goddess Durga or goddess Laxmi or goddess Saraswati or the any name of those famous learned women from the age of the Vedas. These traditional names are very meaningful and have enough weightage to boost confidence in your child in future. Moreover, the names of goddesses are always good for a child. HOWEVER, DEAR... ALL NAMES ARE GOOD.. OUR WORK AND BEHAVIOUR DECIDES OUR FUTURE AND FORTUNE. A NAME MUST BE SOOTHING TO EARS AND MEANINGFUL.
