Hi, my daughter is 14 months old still breastfeeding. Her weight is 20 lb now, birth weight was 3 kg. She has 4 upper and 2 lower teeths can easily cut anything but not able to chew. She has no intrest in feeding, i am giving her boiled mashed apple, avacado, banana with milk, semolina upma, wheat moong dal and vegetable porridge, oat cerelac and ragi during full day in every 3 hour. I feed her only by diverting anyway. She is not even drinking water properly. Now since two days, she is suffering from constipation cries a lot during pooping, passing little hard poop. Sometimes she cries deadly to pass poop. I am giving her prunes, plum and peaches. Plz suggest me what should i do? How can i encourage her towards food, in chewing and drinking liquids. Is she gaining proper weight? I am so worried about her. Your suggestion will be appreciated.

Hi jyotsna... for relieving constipation, we have to increase fibre in her diet n fluids... BT as u are saying that she refuses to drink water or milk... u are left with limited choices to treat her constipation with home remedies.. ripened papaya, chickoo n grapes n kiwis are great fruits.. feed her ripened chickoos n constipation will be relieved. also avoid banana. they increases constipation.

Dont give Smashed apple, papaya. This make poo hard. Try to give her fruit juice. Give her Honey early morning. It helps to prevent constipation. I hope it will help you.

Give her meal in a bowl and try eating along with her. Keep a tumbler for her and tell her if she wants to drink water she can drink water from that. Feed her with leafy vegetables, that will help her in constipation. Hopw this will help you. Take care.
