Dear Antara. Growing children need about 10-15 micrograms of Vitamin D daily. Please read the blog on Nutritional Rickets for suggestions on how to increase the amount of Vitamin D in your child's diet. There is a section on foods containing Vitamin D. Here is the link to the blog: https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/do-you-know-what-causes-nutritional-rickets-in-a-child/302

For some interesting and healthy recipes please take a look at the following blog: https://www.parentune.com/parent-blog/healthy-and-fun-food-options-for-your-toddler/195 Also offer food to your child in colourful crockery and let me feel the texture of food. Do not force him to eat or shout and punish during mealtimes. You may also find some useful suggestions in the following talk: https://www.parentune.com/parent-talk/baby-doesnt-eat/334

hi antara... i have an 18 month old daughter and i have the same problem with food. she eats even ragi and multi grain gruel but she does not want to chew anything... would rather eat easy to swallow stuff :), thank you arunima... the link was very helpful. My daughter's pediatrician put her on vitamin D3 drops. Antara... maybe you can check with your doctor as well, the drops are called "jus dee".

hey antara... just a suggestion... try chicken and mutton soups. you can make a sweet corn chicken soup with egg and a little bit of milk for taste, and a bit of pepper. mutton... just the stock(water) from boiling the mutton with salt and spices. you can even try adding rice to the chicken or mutton stock. my girl is just getting used to the taste and is still fussy.. but its worth a try.

hi Antara, Preeti... if ur child is very fussy abt food... give them supplement... Pediasure... it helps child to grow, weight enhancement as well. It is complete content of iron, calcium protien n all... (google it). u can add in milk instead of water... it fills child tummy. Give them after dinner... as it very heavy and child is always contented n dont feel hungry... if u give them during the day... they will stop eating solid food... my son lost lots of weight due to illness... s'one suggested me and it helped me a lot... @ antara.. if the child having defficiecy of Vitamin D.... let her play in the early morning at 6-7am in sunlight... tht is naturaly vitamin D.. and.... do give medicne as prescribed by doc... as deficiecy of vitamin D leads to Rickets(google it) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickets
