Of course it's a myth! Just imagine poor pregnant women eating double the diet to what they are eating :) Of course one should not negligent towards one's health and especially when you have little angel inside you. Including good amount of veggies and fruits in your diet can do wonders to your baby & you in a longer run!

It is an absolute myth. While the fact that she is nourishing an additional life inside her cannot be refuted, it really does not mean she needs to double her intake. If she has not been a disciplined eater all this while, she needs to relook at her diet plan, and include food from all food groups in a balanced manner at regular intervals, in the right quantities with a special focus on physical exercise regimen.
