Hi Samar, you could give him a very small quantity... say half a teaspoon and then wait for 3 days to see if it suits the child or not. Mostly this is the way a food allergy is tested in children.. it takes 3 days for any sort of problem to manifest. But, even after you start him on it, give it to him very infrequently and in small quantities. hope this helsp.

Hi Samar, Nuts are known to be highly allergy causing, but then again the jury seems to be divided on the right age to introduce them to toddlers. 18 months seems to be an okay age, but do an allergy test first. Give him peanut butter one day, keeping the rest of the menu same. If you notice any change in the stool, or child complains of discomfort, or any breathing difficulty etc. , stop it immediately.

Hello Samar, in my experience you can start your child on all foods post 12 months--including meat, poultry, fish etc. But then again, each child is different. Where my children, did not have any problems with peanuts or peanut butter, your child can have different requirements. So, intoduce gradually, in small quantities first. if all is ok, you can then increase the amounts.

Samar, peanut butter should be a safe bet, but honestly why do you want to give your child a synthetic product, from a bottle, that is laden with chemicals, stabilizers, and other artificial things? We all know the hype in west around peanut butter, but then you can't ignore the chemicals etc in it. Instead give him peanuts to eat (roasted and crushed and used on dahi or toast, or in a home made chikki etc. )safe and healthy. And give him home-made white butter.
