pets for children

hi,I have a pet at home for past years and now recently I have a four month old baby how should I handle my baby as well as my pet,does it create any infection pls could u help me regarding this?

I have a 11 month old beagle in the house (a very active and excited dog) and a 4 month old baby myself.. initially it was difficult so we kept them in two different rooms for a couple of months... slowly we introduced the two of them ..our dog is trained to not jump on beds ..now they both co exist in the same room without any problems.. our dog is bathed almost every week and total care is taken to keep him clean ..also I was raised in a family with dogs and I believe if anything pets help increase the immunity of children. Also my 4 month old loves observing and looking at our dog and gets entertained. And my dog shows concern towards the baby when he starts crying.
