My baby is 7 days old. I'm not sure whether he is getting feeded properly or not. How can i be sure he's fully feed or not? Please also advise which is proper ambient temperature to be maintained

Babies cry do to several reasons, not just hunger so that's not a very good indicator of hunger. that said, babies also would want to suckle for comfort sometimes... even if they are full. I have two kids and I have always stuck to two indicators whenever o was in doubt - weight gain, which should be consistent (10-18 grams... at least 10 gas in the first few months) and no. of times he/she urinates (at least 8-10 times). If the baby is slightly on the lighter side when it comes to weight, feed him/her more frequently. The more frequently he/she drinks, the more you shall produce. Docs always advice this! trust me, this works! To check the urination, you'll have to keep the baby in cloth nappies for a few days... cumbersome but worth the effort ... at least to allay unnecessary doubts and fears. Finally, never doubt your lactation capability, every mother naturally lactate, just be confident and we'll informed. I know it is a tough phase, if been through it twice.. but all will become better... take it one day at a time... wish you the best! hugs!!

one more thing... let the baby suckle as much as it wants before you switch sides. A rule of thumb is at least twenty minutes. Try to avoid baby falling asleep as soon as it latches as due to comfort some drift off to sleep. Wake it up and try again. Ensure the any has completed one side fully. The breast would be lighter and softer when nearly empty. Try and express/press the breast while the baby feeds if they have become hard... it eases the let down and it becomes easier for baby to suckle too. there is a website called kellymoms. do refer it for such doubts. it's really good.. worked for me! :)
