Feeding expressed milk is fine but babies will require mothers for the warmth and they would expect to feed from breasts directly. u ve to make him ready from now itself. wen u r at home itself start feeding expressed milk. u stay away and ask the person to take care the whole day and see how is he.

Hi Manisha, it is the mom who feels the separation anxiety most specially when then they have been round the clock taking care of the baby. Don't worry he will learn to adjust, however these are few things that you may start doing from now so that he gets used to it. You said that you are arranging for your milk to be expressed. So I would suggest that you start expressing your milk and let his grandmother feed him during the day. Prepare a timetable with the proper timings and store the expressed milk with the neat labels of time written on them. So that your mother/mother -in-law does know which milk has to be given first. Also you may start preparing your son by being not coming within his vision range for half an hour and then gradually increase the absence duration.
