If baby pees for several tines... thn u can assure tht baby is getting enough milk. If u r breast feeding several times and if u see tht urine ouput is less.. thn its time to start formula... this is one of the reasons which i know.

Please note that no baby remains hungry. If u realise that your baby is crying even after you have fed him for atleast 30min each side for a single go, then you know that the milk production is not enough. You could start formula milk then... This is over and above the previous suggestion of checking the urinating schedule of the baby. Happy Parenting!

Hi Soumya! Since you are a nursing mother, firstly, you must ensure that you are eating well and that your diet includes rich and nutritious food. Eat lots of fenugreek and other leafy vegetables as they enhance lactation. Drink lots of water too and take your calcium and vitamin supplements as prescribed by your doctor. You would know whether you are producing enough milk or not. If not then you can also try the traditional Shatavari powder that supports lactation. Now coming to your question. One sign that can help you to check whether your milk is sufficent or not is to check the baby's poop. If the baby's poop is green at any time and not the usual yellow, it is a sign that the baby is hungry. As much as possible do not think of supplemetary milk, give the most of your breast milk for the first year :) It is also the best way to bond with your child well. Happy motherhood!

One of the method to check whether baby remains hungry or gains sufficient breast milk is his weight. If your son is gaining weight that means he gains sufficient breast milk from you. Don't worry. Happy motherhood.
