Babies have different sleep patterns. Take time to understand your baby's habits and ways of communicating so that you can help him or her become a better sleeper. Try keeping them busy though the day, so that they tire and sleep eventually at night. Also, if the baby sleeps for long hours during the day, this may be one of the reasons. In any case, any habit you try will take a little while to catch on with the baby. So need to have patience. Happy parenting :)

My baby is of 1 yr &10 months, had same practice. I tried one method and it works. I allow him to sleep in day time but not in the evening and made this as habits to play a lot in the evening. So he gets tired around 10:30pm in night and sleeps peacefully and doesn't awake apart from asking for drinking water in midnight. You can also try this. All the best :)

It's the same problem with my daughter who is 2yrs old.. I made a small change in her daily schedule. I give her some activities like building blocks, watering the plants, cleaning her toys, bicycle. I mess with her toys and ask her to place them in her big bag.... ;-)lol... hide and seek games, showing her story books and asking her about the pictures.... this occupies her mind...... afternoon.. 3 - 5 PM.... should sleep.... 6-7 park..... and once she's back home outdoor playing.... this keeps her tired.... and finally sleeps at 10.... this is how I do.... :)
