Hi friends, I stay in delhi & winters are on the way. My son, who is 6 yr old, is in daycare after his school. He leaves at 8. 30 in the morning & then after 3. 30 he is in schoo for 2 hours, They have been served snacks in the day care but somehow he does not like them. Could you all plz suggest me some snacks which will be suitable in winters. If i pack paratha it will be ice cold by evening, plz suggest something which he will enjoy as evenings snack. Regards, Sonal

Hello Sonal, this is a problem with winters. foods go cold and don't taste as nice. maybe you could pack him a small tiffin that has dry fruits, one fruit, and a bread slice sort of thing. all this will make a healthy snack for him. these days sweet potato is also available. boil, peal, and make a chaat for him. roasted makhanas, channas, and even gur patti of peanuts is simple and healthy.

Hi Sonal, steamed corn, home-made cake or muffin, a whole fruit like banana, apple or orange, are some good choices. also, if he doesn't mind, then a hard boiled, cold egg too works. you could try a simple cheese sandwich too.

Sonal, Try idlis. You can roast them with julienned capsicum and carrot and give a tadka of rai, salt etc. Also , boiled channa salad, rajma salad are good options. Just give salt separately or it will leak water. request someone at daycare to add salt for him. hope these ideas work.
