Hi Parents, My daughter is 5 year old. When she woke up yesterday morning her eyes were swollen. We thought she might have not slept properly but her eyes are same even today. Please suggest that if it could be some infection or do i need to take her to the doctor? Thanks in advance.

Dear Shilpa, is your daughter complaining of discomfort in the eyes? You may ask her if there is any pain or excessive watering of the eyes. It could be due to an allergic reaction and may go away in a few days time. But if she in pain or has difficulty in reading/writing or any other activity, it is better to check with a doctor asap. Hope this helps. Do let us know how she is.

Hi Shilpa! Swollen eyes in children cud b a result of infection, allergy, or injury. It is advisable Please look for other symptoms such as redness, watering of eyes, dryness, itching, pain etc. U cud ask the child not to rub eyes as it wud further aggravate the condition. U cud wash eyes with cold water. n if above symptoms persist please visit an eyes specialist.
