hi Anika Khanna! this might happen as their might be a mismatch in her thinking and writing speed. as a result when it comes to writing , she misses important words or her work makes little sense because of errors in grammar or being not to the point. To correct this , u could instead of taking oral tests at home, give her timed written tests and make her work on her mistakes. this would prepare her on the problems she faces while writing papers. also get her into the habit of revising her work before submitting her paper. she also needs to work on her writing speed which would Improve only with practice. hope this helps!

Hi Anika, As you have figured out, your child is suffering from exam anxiety. Anxiety can stop his brain from thinking clearly. It can block his memory. So first you have to work on reducing that anxiety by giving him assurance that his performance in one exam is not the measure of his intelligence. Assure him that you wont be upset if he scores low. Give him assurance that you will do all that you can, to help him with his studies. In exams if he scores low, tell him that he can perform better the next time. Tell him that there is always a next time. If you take it easy, your child will take it easy too. But you feel upset, you will pass on the pressure to him. Sit with him and discuss the questions that were asked in exam. If he knows the answer, applaud him. Make him realize that he is capable. Unless you separate the anxiety, it will affect his performance in exams. Good luck..
