thinking before acting

so my 7 (almost 8) yr old daughter has been doing things withouth thinking about with it is a good idea or if it is safe. she will sit on a chaor and tip it and fall or this morning, she tossed a piece of her doll clothing in the livingroom and it landed on the table knocking her cup of water over. this frusterates me. Is this just a stage? I keep reminding her that she needs to think about the things she does before she does it. And if I catch her before she does it, I tell her to stop and think if it a safe or good thing to do. Is there anything else I can do to help encourage her to think before acting ? thank you

hi Deanne Elliott ! I do comprehend your concern. some children are impulsive by nature and they realise their mistake only after doing it. this is part of growing up and is called learning by doing. there is nothing strange about it. as a parent you would want to guide your child at each and every step. however the lesson in this case would not be a lifelong one . let the child learn from his mistakes for it to be a learning for life. please do not worry she will come around soon.
