Hi Sudha, you should check with your paediatrician about starting your baby on semi-solid foods. mostly by the age of 4-6 months, most docs start infants on mashed bananas, stewed apples/pears, boiled and mashed vegetables, etc. these help keep the child full for a longer duration. also, to start with gently introduce the formula feed. Express breast milk and give it to her through a bottle to maintain familiarity. then slowly you can get her to formula. hope these help.

Dear Sudha, it could take your baby longer to take to the bottle or she may not take it at all. You could try and gradually replace one feed with formula even when you are home. Let your husband or any other family member give your baby the bottle while you stay in another room. This works sometimes as your baby will know you are not around. Nursing is also for comfort so your baby will want to nurse and not take the bottle and especially so if you try to give her one. I agree with what Ankita has suggested with regards to solids. Introduce solids gradually. Start with pureed apples as most babies love that. To save on time, you may puree about 3 to 4 apples and freeze the puree in separate containers. Before feeding your baby, take one out and let it thaw. Have patience and follow your baby's cues. Do not force her with the bottle as she will start associating the bottle with a negative experience. Hope this helps.
