1. keep the baby warm... but not overheated. 2. carry baby's bedding 3. change diapers frequently and keep hands clean 4. don't travel alone 5. don't leave the baby alone on the berth 6. lower berth is better for baby and mother to sleep 7. carry baby's food and yours as well

Hi, In addition to Amrita's precautions. Be there in the railway station at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time. Make sure you are on the right platform at leat 15 minutes prior. Know the right place that your coach stops on the platform. Don't board the coach while carrying the baby. Ask your spouse or relative/friend to board the train first and pass the baby to them or vice versa. If you cannot manage with your luggage, get a porter. If you are travelling in AC coach and the inside temperat ure is too cold. Ask the attendant to set the temperature around 25 degree Celsius. Also carry hot water incase you need to wash the bottles (if bottle feed). In case of formula feed use only home purified warm water or room temperature mineral water bottles that are trusted by many. Carry couple of cotton towels, wet wipes. Never leave your baby unattended, not even for half a minute. Check your berth for any sharp edges and take necessary precautions. if you are travelling in a non AC coach, If the window shutters are open Make sure they are locked properly and firmly. I hope this information is helpful. Happy Journey..
