hi everyone,as a mother I feel am facing a serious issue. My five month baby boy has left bottle feed and now we feed him with the help of spoon but now as he is growing up he has started holding spoon, closing his mouth and kicking as well. On top of that he cries so much that he throws up the entire milk which is just too painful to see. Request you to suggest any other way to feed him/should the water be still warm for the formula with the delhi temperature. I am really worried... please help

Hi Neha. Please continue breastfeeding. The more you nurse, the more milk will be produced and your baby will be better nourished. You may but a sippy cup meant for 6 months old. They are like feeding bottles but instead of having to suck the milk, the milk will flow out on its own in slow drips which are easy for your baby to swallow. It may take sometime for your baby to get used to but you may give it a try. Avoid the spoon, it is a little unsafe.

Hi Neha, the water should be lukewarm as warm things get digested faster and easier. Give him small teaspoons of milk at one time... maybe 4-5 and when he becomes fussy stop. And then after sometime, offer him again. If he has learnt to sit, give it to him in a sipper.

Hi Neha, ensure the position he is in is comfortable for him.. for eg: prop him up on a few pillows. Use a deep spoon for feeding... spoon with a narrow head but deep bowl. Try distracting him, by showing him the ceiling fan, or have the projector toy on, which casts shadows on the ceiling, while you tilt the milk into his mouth. These are just some small strategies, though in the long term, distracting the child, is not recommended.
