At what age do the babies recognize objects and trace them with their eyes? My 8 weeks old baby still doesn't move his eyes as per the object movement. Otherwise he moves his eyes in random direction.. Is that OK?

Hi Purva,The muscles that initiate movement start to strengthen from birth to 2 months, at which point infants have control of their eye. However, images still appear unclear at two months due to other components of the visual system like the fovea and retina and the brain circuitry that are still in their developmental stages.

Purva Nanivadekar baby's full vision will be developed between 3 to 5 months when he will ae to make schema of mother ,father and would start recognising them.

Thank you. But does that mean he won't even respond to rattle sound... ? He understands that there is some sound but doesn't look in the direction of sound...

Purva Nanivadekar tacking of objects, would take place around 3 month or so. please don't panic.. however if u feel something is amiss, please consult ur baby's pediatrician.
