Vitamin D deficiency

Hi All, I am again here to seeking your help. we recently visited to Pediatric…just doctor generally asked abt his milk in take…. as my son(4. 5yrs old)  doesn’t like milk and his in-take is quite less. He suggested us to go for calcium and vitamin D test. Report revealed vitamin D high deficiency. I know this is due to sun very less exposure for him…tht is another reason of the same. I hv checked on net abt Food contains Vitamin D and came to know if has almost in non-veg, fish , eggs and all.. (we have joint family and having constraint) Could you pls suggest me some other veg food which has high Vitamin D. Thanks. Aarti

Since the reports show that the deficiency is on the higher side, you may consider giving your child some Vitamin D supplements which will help in treating the deficiency sooner. Speak to his doctor for some suggestions. Hope this helps.

Dear Aarti, Vitamin D is also found in mushrooms, fortified cerels (cornflakes, choco flakes), some fruit juices and also in malted drinks such as Bournvita & Horlicks..
