Hi Bharti. I agree with Shikha here. He could be picking up these habits from other children or the television. You could have a talk with him and explain that these actions are not acceptable. You could start with some 'time out' each time he does something like that. The first time he spits or hits someone, you may give him a warning that if he does it again, he will be sent for time out. If he does it again, you could take him to a corner and make him sit there for 2 mins without talking to him or letting him move from the spot. Remove all distractions too. It may take a while, but this way of discipline mostly works and children very soon get the message. Hope this helps.

Dear Parent, I ve a query for u. is the child being talked abt d only child at home? There is a possibility tht ur child could be imitating an older child. It cud be an older sibling, a cousin or any child in neighborhood. pls look for any child or may be even an adult whom he cud be imitating. Or it's quite possible tht he is not happy abt d presence of ur in laws or cud sense d tension at home due to d their presence. His frustration is coming out in this manner. Ur response to his this behavior should always be of a BIG NO, n cud explain it to d child tht this behavior is unacceptable.
