Could you be little more precise in your question? Are you asking related to education or character - building? Shreyansh Yadav

Evaluate your child’s aptitude, strengths, and weaknesses. Help your child in discovering his/her own passion. Motivate your Child in pursuing his/her passion. Inform your Child regarding all aspects of the career. Help the Child understand the work-life in the chosen career by associating with professionals in the field. Stop your child from falling prey to peer pressure and herd mentality. Gain your Child’s confidence and motivate them to discuss their queries with you. Seek professional help whenever required. Shreyansh Yadav ! Wow that's an amazing question worth pondering upon for every parent. I am glad you asked this. Well if we make the child do what we want, the child might do it just to see that smile on our face but somewhere deep down he won't be happy and gradually a parent would also start noticing that over a period of time. And seeing the child unhappy we won't be happy too. So the whole purpose of making the child follow a path of our choice ( as we thought it would be good for them) stands defeated since the prime motive i. e. his HAPPINESS remains unfulfilled.

So as Beenu Chauhan has mentioned already. Give him a chance to chose a path of his choice. Also give him the faith no matter what ,you are there for him to support him irrespective of the outcome. This will have two positive outcomes. One: he will learn a lot in the process and the lessons learnt are gonna stay with him for life. Two: He will have nothing to complain about later on saying that probably he would have been more successful only if his parents would have allowed him to do what he always wanted to.

Do show him various options available, make him meet people who are already successful in those fields . Probably if feasible also make him meet a career counselor. And then leave it on to him to decide what he thinks would best meet his aptitude, interest as well as a means of earning livelihood by taking it up as a profession few years down the line
