What do you do when your 11 month throws a fuss while eating. For young mothers, It can be distressing when the child refuses to eat. She suggests introducing varieties of foods like porridges alternating the grains, combining it with formula or breast milk. different types of seasonal fruits, potatoes and sweet potatoes and other vergetables. She recommends different varieties of fruits in varioust forms like stewed apple or pureed apple. Accroding to her if a child refuses to eat a particular food, you can reintroduce the same food after a period of 10 daysin a separate form. She also recommends adding that food item to a specific dish. For instance you can add vegetables to khichadi. This not only ensures the right balance of nutrition for your child, but also brings in variety, and the child gradually develops a taste for different kinds of foods. She advises against introducing oil, sugar and salt before the first year as the child is not introduced to seasoning and is equally happy eating food without any sweet or salty taste. So it is important to introduce different foods at an early age and not limit the child's diet in terms of choice of food.
