Is vaccination on your checklist for your school-going child?

Summer vacations are going to be over soon and I am sure most mums must be busy preparing the back-to-school checklist. Well, it’s best if your child is classroom-ready beforehand to save yourself the last-minute panic. Isn’t it?
And by this time, you may be making sure that your child is regularly doing the holiday homework to complete it all in time. You have also bought all the new stationery that he/she requires. All the art and craft work is being done. By now, you may have checked out everything on your checklist. But there is something really important that you are forgetting. Did you have your child’s vaccination dates on your checklist? Yes, your school-goer needs his/her dose of timely vaccination.
Your school-goer’s need for vaccination doesn’t really end as soon as he/she is out of kindergarten. Yes, your child is growing up now and in order to have a healthy growth and development, he/she should be up to date with their vaccinations. Why is a vaccination for your child? Classrooms sometimes become the breeding grounds for viruses that cause illness in your child. Why your child is prone to repeated bouts of a cold, sore throat and other viruses like Pertussis, mumps could be because they have missed on their vaccinations. You can consult your child’s paediatrican on vaccinations your school-goer needs and prepare for a wonderful start for a new semester.
