Unsung heroes: A special tribute to all the Fathers

With the birth of a baby both father and mother are also born. However, it is mums who are considered as the most important person in the child’s life thus leaving the man of the house – the Father – feeling totally left out. But fathers also hold a same place too in the child’s life. Though fathers cannot breastfeed but they can as well take good care of their babies like the mothers do.

It is said that while a woman carries a baby in her womb for nine months, a father carries a baby in his mind throughout his life. He also feels the agony of child birth not physically, but mentally yes, when his wife is going through excruciating labour pain. A father also feels the same sense of happiness snuggling his baby close to his heart for the first time.

But often fatherhood is left undiscussed. A father is often related to earning bread for the family and taking care of his children's demands but fatherhood is way beyond that. A father can also sing lullabies to put his little angel to sleep and what not!!!  He can do whatever a mommy can.

So this Father’s Day let’s just celebrate the essence of Father by making him feel special and thanking him for being the more than the bread-earner of the family. A father apart from doing what a mommy can do, also does these few things.

Imbibes cultural values in his child: It is the father who imbibes cultural values in his child! He teaches the child right from the wrongs and helps his child to make decisions based on the rights and wrongs

Teaches social manners to his child: A child learns from imitation and the social manners he/she learns from the father! How to sit on the table, how to eat, how to greet and meet all these things are taught by the father.

Bike rides are so much fun with father: Whether it is a first bike lesson, skating or swimming lessons, fathers are always there to ensure that their child learns the best. Fathers take the time out from their busy schedules just to ensure that their child gets the bike lesson from him only.

With so many things a father does, it is only natural that I would like to pay a tribute to my father and express my heartfelt gratitude to my father and to the father of my little princess.
