We all want to be #YesMoms, but how?

"No."

"Don't do it."

"Don't go there."

"Nope."

"Don't eat that."

These are just a few words that a child hears almost every day in his/her life. As a parent, I am so concerned about my son’s (Sarthak, 4-years-old) safety all the time that unconsciously I keep him from doing some fun things that all children deserve to do in their childhood.

As mothers, we become the shield for them, which instead turns out to be decisions that often make them unhappy or disappointed. I find myself always telling him (rather instructing him) what to do and what not to do. And in this entire attempt to keep him safe and protected from accidents or sickness, I forget that these days are the most precious days of my child’s life and they won’t come back.

Children should be allowed to explore, examine, learn, watch, absorb, understand and feel. And to do that we should nurture their curiosity, innocence, freedom, and simplicity. Having said that, the most important thing is to ensure your child is healthy and strong and has fantastic immunity levels – because a weak child will not be able to make the most of his/her childhood.

Today, I will share with all of you, how I have started being cautious about uttering ‘NO’ to my munchkin. Sometimes my society can have water-logged pathways; and, when I take my son to school in the morning, he often displays sheer enthusiasm to jump in the puddle of dirty water. It has been twice that I told him, “I promise you, on your way back home we will both jump!” Like promised, we have jumped together twice; been all dirty together and had a lot of fun. And do you know where I got all the confidence to let my boy get soaked in the dirt without worrying about him falling sick? Well, my secret ingredient is ActivKids Immuno Boosters by Cipla. I will talk a bit about this product later on in the blog.

Now, of course, after both our jumping sessions, I ensured he bathed in warm water. I cleaned him up nice and dry. And fed him a warm glass of milk too. He was happy in the end and so was I. The most fun part was, all the mommies in my society took a cue from the two of us!

Many times, mother’s struggle to ensure that they are able to monitor their child’s diet well. After all, so many of us are dealing with fussy eaters. My boy often requests for an outside meal (junk food, basically), and I end up saying ‘NO’ because junk food often lacks necessary nutrients for a healthy growth. However, off late, I do allow him occasional indulgence – just to see that smile on his face. Obviously, I make sure the food comes from a good, clean eatery! Nonetheless, I do not worry about him falling sick because I have taken good care of his immunity.

Children are delicate beings and are prone to get affected by many factors such as changing temperature, pollution, adulteration in foods, and more. But, what worries me most is that my son doesn't eat properly; and I used to be afraid that it may weaken his immunity.

But, to deal with issues like these, what’s more, important is to understand the basics.

What is immunity after all?

The ability of our body to resist a particular infection or disease is called immunity. Our immunity diminishes due to pollution, use of pesticides in food, junk food that we eat, weather conditions, dust, less nutrition, lack of sleep and etc. And all these factors only make children an easy target for diseases.

Modern lifestyle has made us so busy that sometimes it becomes hard for us to give our child proper nourishment as they spend most of their time outside the home in day-cares, schools, activity classes, friends’ homes, birthday parties, and the likes.

My boy doesn't always eat; in fact, making him eat without his will is not a pleasant sight at our household! So, for me, making sure he gets all his nutrients daily used to be quite a challenge. However, ever since I started giving him the ActivKids Immuno Boosters by Cipla – I have shed all my worries.

You might ask, what is this? Well, this is a nutritional supplement for children. It contains vitamin A, C, B9, Iron and many other essential nutrients, which provide strength and immunity to fight off diseases. This comes in a tasty choco-bite format and is low in sugar. Moreover, it has no added preservatives or artificial colours. In fact, you don’t need to add milk or water to it! Just have it like that. Easy-peasy? Yes, it is truly a quick bite.

Thanks to these, now I can make sure my son stays miles away from diseases and that too in a very easy way as he loves the taste very much.

To all mothers out there, here is a way to boost your child’s immunity and thereby giving wings to their childhood. I turned into a #YesMom by simply focussing on my child’s immunity. You can do the same, So, avoid using the word ‘NO’ and just have fun without worrying about their health. Happy parenting mommies!
