Do's and Don'ts of Child's Nutrition

Healthy and good nutrition is important to your child's growth and development. Setting them off the right way in terms of nutrition sets the right foundation for their healthy lifestyle. Good nutrition also plays an important role in fighting infections and diseases through a good immune system.
Some of the Dos and Don'ts of Healthy Eating include

Don't skip meals.

Invite everyone to sit together and eat meals

Set an example - Model good eating habits as your child will learn what they will see

Don't eat dinner too late

Involve them in the process of food from picking vegetables, cooking, setting the table.

Let your child choose from what is on their plate.

If your child is fussy, keep trying even if you don't succeed.

Do keep track of your eating habits.

Do drink plenty of water.

Do delay / distract yourself.

Do exercise instead of eating when bored.

Don't eat while you watch TV, work, drive.

Limiting meals to a reasonable length of time - Make sure you don't spend too much time on your meal. This will help your child stay focussed.
