Easter : Tell The Story To Your Child
Storytelling is the biggest part of childhood. It doesn’t just help a toddler sleep but also makes a room for imagination. While listening to a story, a child is always focused which strengthens their listening ability and also awakens their curiosity. This Sunday while many Christians will be celebrating Easter - the day of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, you can tell your child the story of Easter and why it is celebrated. Around 3000 years ago God had sent a man on earth named Jesus – the son of God and the savior of the world. While Jesus was on earth he told everyone about God’s love and healed people from their sickness and did many miracles. The jews leaders and teachers were not happy with Jesus and did not like how he claimed to be the son of god. And, so, they decided to arrest him and get rid of him once and for all. Judas, one of Jesus’s disciples agreed to betray Jesus for some money. Jesus was in the garden praying when Judas came and gave him a kiss on the cheek to greet him. By doing this the jews came to know who Jesus was. Jesus was arrested and was presented to the high council. They asked him “if he was the son of God” to which Jesus replied, “you say that I am”. The council was furious and decided that Jesus was guilty and deserves to die. He was turned over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. Jesus was beaten, his clothes were torn and taken away from him, and a crown made out of throne was put on his head. He was beaten so badly that he barely stand on his feet. Then, he was forced to carry his cross far up a mountain.

Once Jesus made it to the place where he would be crucified, the soldiers around him nailed him to the cross and waited for him to die. While Jesus was hanging on the cross many people shouted to him “if you really are the son of God then save yourself” but Jesus knew he had to die to forgive the sins of his people. A few hours later Jesus took his last breath and died. At that very moment, the curtain in the temple that separated the priest from Gods holy place torn apart in two. A solder watching the whole things said: “this man truly was the son of God”. Then the wisest man named Joseph came and placed Jesus's body in his tomb. But, after three days on a Sunday morning, the woman who cared for Jesus went to go visit his body and found that his tomb was empty and he was no longer there.

Later, the woman remembered that Jesus had told them that he would rise again on the third day. And then for the next 40 days, Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others and showed them that he was alive and taught them that what he did was the only way that they could be forgiven and be with God forever.
