Recipe: Egg Suji (12 months - 18 months)

Packed with essential nutrients like protein, vitamins, iron and zinc, eggs are highly beneficial for babies. The choline present in it helps in the development of your little one’s brain and cognitive function. Suji is a good source of fibre which makes it quite easy to digest. The recipe has a very soft texture and you can even add some flavours and colours to it by adding different fruits and vegetables. This recipe can be used to feed children who are malnourished.
Preparation Time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients

1 tablespoon semolina
-
½ egg
-
1 small piece of ash gourd (can be replaced by green papaya) finely chopped
-
1/5 of a small carrot or a small piece of pumpkin finely chopped
-
1 ½ teaspoon sugar /jaggery
-
1 teaspoon oil
-
¾ glass
-
Water
Number of Servings: 1
Recommended Serving Size: 1/2 bowl (approximately 150-200g)

Method:

Heat a flat pan, and roast semolina, add water to it.

Add finely chopped vegetables and stir continuously till they are thick and the vegetables are well cooked.

Add egg, and stir quickly till well-mixed.

Add oil and sugar/molasses.

Continue to cook until well mixed.

The quantity should be approximately half a bowl.
