The Air Quality Index In Delhi has reached a new high breaking all records. The ‘severe plus’ air quality, as it has been rightly termed, has created a wave of fear and the most vulnerable group is that of the elderly and small children, even those who are yet to be born. The AQI in many areas is soaring beyond the 400 mark and in some parts it has even touched the alarming levels of 1300 - 1500 according to the Swiss Air Technology Firm IQAir.

The air quality is worsening with every passing day and so is its impact on our children. Delhi left behind Pakistan's Lahore with a huge margin, becoming the most polluted city in the world.

Authorities in Delhi and the NCR region, including Noida, Gurgaon, and Faridabad have ordered the suspension of offline classes till Class 12 owing to the hazardous air quality. Schools have been ordered to conduct online classes.

The superfine pollution particles can easily enter the bloodstream, from where they can travel to the baby’s gut, brain and lungs, negatively affecting the functioning of these, as well as other organs. image
