While bringing up children with autism, do we realize how we model our behaviour. It is important to observe and monitor how we respond to our feelings and situations. This is integral, as our behavioural traits get trasnferred to our cbildren. What we practise is what we model for our children. While, it is important to work on building and strengthening different skills in our children, it is equally important to know what other things the child is imbibing from us when we act upon a situation, our responses and the way we manage ourselves. Dr, Vibha Krishnamurthy, an eminent and renowned Developmental Pediatrician and Founder of UMMEED Child Development Services Mumbai, talks about the need to model the correct behaviour for our children and shares examples from her personal life and strategies to handle tough situations with positivity.
