How to motivate a child to choose healthy food options

Eating healthy is very important for everyone, more so with your child. How do you encourage your child to eat healthy food? You can definitely adopt some strategies to improve nutrition and encourage smart eating habits. These would include:
Involving your child in the process of eating - this can include them in buying vegetables, cooking, serving etc.
Involving your children in food activities like cooking and shopping not only improves food and social skills but also provides a comfortable situation in which children can talk to adults.
You should also eat family meals together regularly. Discuss food and why it is important to eat healthy Be a role model by eating healthy yourself and then let your child decide what they want to eat. It is also a good idea to serve a variety of healthy foods and snacks. Also make the food look good and colorful so your child can develop interest. You could create a rainbow on their plate, use cookie cutters to shape food, wrap up grapes, blueberries, radishes in foil packages, create lollipops out of vegetables. Last but not the least, you should try to avoid battles over food.
