While I never took the spoonful without putting up a fight with my parents on a daily basis, I am glad that I had it every time despite being forced. This brings me to the fact that chwayanprash should be given to your child too which will keep them immune to many diseases and viruses in the coming time. We will talk about what chwayanprash is, how it is made and how it will benefit your child.

What Is Chwayanprash?

Chwayanprash is herbal tonic, largely consumed in India and is known for its healthy and natural ingredients. Made by an age old Ayurveda formula, it comprises of herbs which are said to contain powerful immune boosting capabilities.

How Is Chwayanprash Made?

Traditionally chwayanprash is made with Indian gooseberry which is also referred as ‘amla’ that is the main ingredient. It is cooked with sugar, honey, ghee, sesame oil, herbs and various spices to form a sticky mixture. Amla is said to be a rich fruit which contains plenty of vitamin C that is the powerhouse of antioxidants. With this mixture, chwayanprash will help your child safeguard in a number of illness.

Why You Should Give Your Child Chwayanprash?

Here are some reasons why you should give chwayanprash to your child.

  1. Boost immunity: As chwayanprash contains vitamin C and various herbs and spices, it will help your child protect himself/herself from various diseases and viruses. Your child will be immune to common cold, flu and cough or his body will be able to fight if off with an ease

Being winter time already, this is the best time to start giving chwayanprash to your child if he/she is already 1 year old or more. If you are wondering about the quantity to be given then fill 1/4th of a spoon and give it to your child in the morning before breakfast.
