Mental health often goes neglected in children with autism and they experience anxiety and depression, as their way of behaving in a social set up maybe different and diverse. Expectations from them to fit into the society and follow the regular norms puts an undue pressure on them causing anxiery, sense of isolation and even depression at times. This in turn, also impacts the mental health of the caregiver and the other memebers in the family. Jill Sanghvi, a Senior Therapist from UMMEED Mumbai talks aboiut the need to be cogniznt about after the mental health and wellbeing of children on the autism spectrum.
