Role of Prebiotic Hmo's in baby's body

Each pregnancy is a unique story and this is my story of becoming a mom. I was the first one among my cousins and my friends’ group to become a mom. I had zero experience with babies and when I got pregnant I was the most excited and curious person. I installed the parentune app, which gave me updates about the baby and what to expect at each stage of my pregnancy. With a few ups and downs in the pregnancy stage, I went through blogs, Doctors’ advice and stayed fairly active throughout my pregnancy. I still remember the day when I was a little anxious and asked the Doctor about how I can prepare myself for becoming a mother. She helped me understand various aspects. I can’t forget her advice. She said, “It’s important to not only prepare your body for delivery but also to prepare for the newborn’s arrival. That was her queue to identify the Pediatrician for my baby. She helped me do that.
I met the Pediatrician and had a few detailed sessions about my birthing plans, post-birthing readiness for the baby and so on. The paediatrician highlighted the importance of the right nutrition for the baby, and breastfeeding my baby. Breastmilk has Prebiotic HMOs. These produce good bacteria in the baby’s gut and keep the bad bacteria in check. Prebiotic HMOs help in protecting the baby from bad bacteria and improve their gut health and immunity. I would share more such ‘Becoming a mother’ stories with you in the coming days. Tell me how you like it, mommies.
