Tips to make your toddler eat healthy

As a first time mother do you also face this problem -- how to make their little one  eat healthy food? Following a common routine of milk, fruits, rice can be boring for toddlers, so mothers, let’s make their meals healthy and tasty. Here are a few tips on how to make your toddler eat healthy food.

Make meals fun: Do some fun activity while making meals for them. Use sliced fruits and make a smiley face onbread. Kids will surely enjoy it.

Involve your toddler: Involve your kids while preparing meals or snacks; allow them to help you in the processes like mashing, whisking. This is how they will develop the interest of eating healthy foods.

Shop with your toddler: Allow your kids to accompany you while shopping for groceries. In this way, mothers can look after the choices of their kids.

Be a role model: Normally, kids follow the eating pattern of their parents. So parents should involve healthy food like green leafy vegetable, fruits and whole grains in their diet.

Diversify the meal:  Mothers should try some variations in the food. Simple rice can be made healthy by adding vegetables, eggs and chicken or soya chunks in it.

Create magic meals: Choosy kids are terrible to handle. They never like vegetables. Try creating magic meals for them by adding chopped or pureed vegetables into roti or stuffed parathas.

Be a super mom: Though outside food is unhealthy, kids like to eat that. Try making food at home that your kids love. Instead of frying, mothers can use the healthier option of baking or using an air-fryer.

Colorful plates: Plate different food items for your kids and make it colourful. Include different colours of food items like green cucumber, red tomatoes or strawberry, white yoghurt or rice, yellow lentils and much more.

Suggest healthy options: Listen to your kids’ choices but always suggest a healthier option. Kids might like to eat fries or fatty food, but parents need to give them a healthy option. Instead of giving them fried potato chips, mothers can give them roasted potato chips along with salsa.

Family meals: Once a day, the family should sit and eat together. This will make your kids learn to eat all the nutritious food on the table.
