However, there are around 7-8 shades of teeth. And this may vary from person to person. However if the shade is too yellow in colour, you can see a dentist.

Tooth Discolouration happens when the natural white colour of your kid’s teeth changes. Discolouration can be of two types- external discolouration and internal discolouration. External Discolouration could be due to medication, food items etc, internal could be because of some medical condition.

  1. Improper Oral Hygiene - If brushing and flossing does not happen properly, it may lead to the formation of plague

  2. Fluorosis - Excess amounts of fluoride

  3. Illnesses

  4. Injury

Maintaining good oral hygiene involves:

  • Regular Brushing - Brush at least twice a day. Also make sure you brush properly.

  • Flossing removes all the small food particles from the teeth that get stuck between teeth.

  • Minimize the intake of soda and sugar, especially at night. The main cause of cavities is sugary food.

  • Regular Dental-check-ups - See your dentist regularly.

  • Consume Food that is good for Oral Health, such as milk and milk products, vegetable and fluoride rich food items.
