Here are some dos and don'ts to ensure good oral health which means healthy and strong teeth and gums.

  • Properly brush your teeth twice a day the germs and plaque to get rid of plaque that accumulate throughout the day. Also, floss regularly to remove small particles. This will keep your breath fresh, gums healthy and teeth free from decay.

  • Do not aggressively brush your teeth or use a hard brush.

  • Don't snack on junk food or sip sweetened drinks. Avoid packaged food and instead eat homemade foods. The main cause of cavities is sugary food. Also, make sure your child does not indulge in late night snacking of sugary foods. A lot of food that we eat causes the microscopic organisms in the mouth to create acids. Sugary food especially leads to plaque formation. So, it is better to avoid these.

  • Visit the dentist regularly.

  • Don't use your teeth to chew on non-food items or to open packages.

  • Switch to a new toothbrush after a regular interval.
