Sanjay Dutt’s Daughter Speaks Up: “Love Matters More Than Image”

What will people say? – a fear most of us live in. Ups and downs in every family is common. Often, there are clashes and we don’t get along with each other. That’s okay. However things start getting worse when we start thinking about society. We prioritise image over children’s happiness.
This is what Sanjay Dutt’s daughter, Trishala Dutt, spoke about recently. She shared a strong message on social media. Many parents gave thought on her words.
What Trishala Dutt Said
Doctor Q&As from Parents like you
Trishala called out parents who focus only on family reputation. She said that many children end up being mistreated or manipulated in the name of protecting honor. Instead of supporting their kids, some parents use control and pressure to make them behave a certain way just to look good in front of society.
We’ve all heard phrases like:
- “Don’t do this, what will people say?”
- “Think about our family name.”
- “This is not how we raised you.”
For some kids, this pressure becomes emotional manipulation. Everything is controlled so the family can appear “perfect.”
But as Trishala reminded everyone, love is more important than appearances. A family should feel safe and not suffocating.

The younger generation today is different. They’re more open about mental health.
This doesn’t mean they love their parents any less. It just means they want relationships built on understanding, not fear.
This Can Happen Anywhere
Trishala is the daughter of a big Bollywood star. From the outside, many assume her life must be perfect. Her message proves that toxic parenting patterns can exist anywhere. It does not matter who you are, a celebrity or a common man.
When she spoke about it, many young people felt her words. They are among the ones who feel the same way but are too scared to talk about it.
Children don’t need perfection. Your children remember your love, not your image.
