Difference in language skills in ADHD and Autism

Speech and language aqusition and development can be a challenge for most kids on the autism spectrum. Yet, due to strong similarities with ADHD, a child with Autism may be mistaken for an ADHD child or vice-versa. Children with ASD usually are able to communicate but are restless and find it difficult to sit in one place. On the other hand, Autism is more of a social communication disorder coupled with other symptoms such as hyperactivity and lack of focus as well. Dr. Koyeli Sengupta, a Developmental Pediatrician from UMMEED, Mumbai talks about the differences in the charactersitics that children with ADHD and Autism exhibit.
