1 Child Dead, 20 in Critical Condition After Eating This Common Street Food — A Village Left in Shock

A simple street snack has turned into a serious health crisis in Bajto village. It has left around 20 people in critical condition, and most of them were children. The most painful part of this incident is that one child has already lost their life.

The most popular food, golgappas is said to be the reason behind the incident.

According to reports, a group of villagers, including many children, ate golgappas from a roadside vendor. Soon after eating them, people started feeling unwell.

At first, a few children complained of stomach pain and vomiting. Families thought it might be something mild. But just within a short time, more people started falling sick.

18 children and 2 adults showed clear symptoms of severe food poisoning.

Despite medical help, one child could not be saved.

The others were taken to nearby hospitals and Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment. Many of them are still in serious condition.

The incident has left the whole village scared. They are moving between hospitals, trying to understand how a simple snack led to such a crisis.

What officials are saying

Authorities have started the investigation. Early reports suggest that stale ingredients or flavoured water may have been used. Some items may have been kept for several days without proper refrigeration, which can be very dangerous in the hot weather.

The location is currently experiencing a heatwave and this spoils food faster.

Samples of food and water have been collected and sent for laboratory testing. The exact cause will only be confirmed once the reports are out.

The hidden risks of everyday street food

Street food is a big part of daily life in many places. It is loved by many people because it is cheap and easily available.

But if hygiene is not followed, even popular foods can become dangerous.

Food like Golgappas needs to be handled carefully as it contains ingredients like chutney, which can spoil quickly. And the major part of this snack is water, which must always be clean.  Even small mistakes in cleanliness or storage can lead to food poisoning.

A simple snack outing turned into hospital emergencies and a tragic loss.

Many people in the village are now afraid to eat street food, especially from roadside vendors.
