Social & Emotional

Today, we see that most children spend their time on mobile phones or playing video games. Many of them have never experienced the simple joy and emotion of reading comic books to pass the time.

But in one home in Chhattisgarh, something very different is happening. Bhumika Tiwari, the mother, shared a video on social media of the father showing his old collection of comic books to their son. The father opened an old trunk filled with comics he had saved for more than 30 years. These comic books were a big part of his childhood.

And today, those same comics have become his son’s favourite thing.

A Childhood Full of Stories

When this man was a young boy, comics were his best friends. He would wait eagerly to read stories of heroes and magical worlds. These books made him laugh, imagine and dream.

Like all other millennial kids, he grew up to a busy life. Work, responsibilities, and family took over. But he never thought of throwing away these comics. He kept them safe in a trunk.

A Small Habit That Became Something Big

One day, the father showed his old collection of comics to his son. The comic books feature iconic characters like Nagraj and Super Commando Dhruv. These characters were very famous among children during the 80’s and 90’s.  He just wanted to share his childhood memories, but his son’s reaction was totally unexpected.

The young boy got so interested in the comics that he started reading them again and again. He read the first book, laughed at the stories and then kept asking for more.

Nowadays, when children prefer watching screens, this boy chose books and that too old books, printed 30 years ago.

When he stored his comics, he may not have thought much about it. His attention was not to lose something that he loved so much.

But today, he feels very good about that decision. Seeing his son love those comics with the same passion brings back pure nostalgia for the dad.

A Beautiful Bond Between Father and Son

This story shows that we don’t need big things to create happiness. Sometimes, we already have them. We just need to open the trunk.

The comics have become a means for the father and son to connect. For the father, it feels like going back in time and for the son, it feels like discovering a new world.
