A Mysterious Illness Took 5 Children’s Lives… Authorities Are Now on Alert

In a small district of Rajasthan, a child fell sick. The symptoms were fever, vomiting and things that are felt common in changing weather.

But then, another child showed the same symptoms. And then another.

Within a few days, five children had lost their lives.

It wasn’t normal. It was a matter of concern and needed immediate attention.

What Exactly Happened?

According to reports, children in one district of Rajasthan began falling ill with similar symptoms, which included high fever, vomiting and weakness. Some were also found unconscious.

As soon as the symptoms were visible, families rushed the children to nearby hospitals. Doctors tried to diagnose, but the illness progressed very quickly. Before they could derive on anything, five children had lost their lives.

Health officials suspect it is encephalitis.  It is a condition caused by a viral infection where the brain gets inflamed.

However, this is just an assumption. The exact cause is still not confirmed.

What Is Encephalitis?

Encephalitis simply means swelling of the brain. This swelling can be caused by viruses (like mosquito-borne infections) or bacterial infections.

The symptoms are very common that is faced during normal illness like vomiting, headache and fatigue.  But as it gets serious, it may lead to seizures and unconsciousness.

That is why it can become dangerous very quickly, especially for children.

What Authorities Are Doing Now

As soon as the pattern was noticed, medical teams were sent to the affected area. Hospitals have been put on alert and samples are being tested in labs. The affected families are being monitored. Nearby areas have been put on alert.

They want to find the cause and stop more children from falling sick.

Sometimes, the most dangerous threats are the ones we don’t fully understand yet.

The health situation is so unpredictable. Even after having advanced medicines, the cause is still unclear. When the cause is uncertain, caution becomes critical.
