“Who will look after my daughter if I die?”

In a quiet corner of Whitefield’s Immadihalli area in Bengaluru, a family home that looked ordinary from outside became the centre of a tragedy.

A 45-year-old homemaker, Suvarna Chandrashekhar, and her 13-year-old daughter, Tarunya, were found dead in their residence on Monday. Police say Suvarna killed her daughter before taking her own life.

But beyond the facts of this case, there is a picture of silent emotional distress that may have gone unnoticed for a long time.

According to early reports, the family had spent the previous evening together. They had stepped out for dinner and even watched a cricket match at home afterwards. There were no signs of crisis as such. And that makes it even harder to understand what would have gone wrong in just one night.

The next morning, when Suvarna could not be reached, concern began to grow within the family. Repeated phone calls went unanswered. Eventually, a relative was asked to check on the house.

What he found inside has now become part of a police investigation.

A recurring fear that family members recall

Police sources and family members have shared that Suvarna often looked worried about her daughter’s future. One question, in particular, she used to repeatedly ask. “Who Will Look After Tarunya If I Die?”

This is a common concern every mother has. She is always worried about her children in her absence.

But in this case, the worry appeared to be taking a heavier meaning. Family members also mention that she was anxious about her husband’s health issues.

No signs on the surface

One of the most difficult parts of such incidents is how normal everything can appear from the outside.

There were no public signs of conflict or immediate distress reported on the day of the incident. This has left everyone with unanswered questions. They are trying to look back and understand if there were any missed signals.

Police have also confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the scene.

The quiet weight of mental health

As investigations continue, attention is slowly turning toward mental health and emotional well-being. Experts often talk about this kind of distress which is not visible. It exists quietly and leads to emotional exhaustion.

When such feelings are not shared, they can become heavier over time. In most of the cases, it is not a single moment that leads to such situations, It is usually a long buildup of internal struggles that goes unseen.
