A disturbing case has come to light from Basti, where a 15-year-old girl killed her own younger brother and tried to make it look like a suicide.

The incident took place on April 11 in Thalhapar village. It has left people shocked, not just because of what happened, but because of how it unfolded.

According to police reports, the 7-year-old boy was found hanging from a ceiling hook on the terrace of his home. He had a scarf tied around his neck.

When the family heard screams, they rushed upstairs. They quickly brought the child down and took him to a nearby health centre in Bankati. His condition was very critical, so the doctors referred him to the district hospital. But sadly, he succumbed to death on the way.

At that moment, the family believed it was a case of suicide.

The family performed the last rites without informing the police. But something did not feel right.

The boy’s father reportedly questioned how a child so young could take such a step. Even after the funeral, the father could not live in peace. His doubts stayed how. 7-year-old could take his own life.

Later that day, a call was made to the police helpline 112. Officers arrived and began looking into the matter.

The Truth Comes Out Days Later

For six days, the truth remained hidden. Then, on April 17, the girl broke down and confessed.

According to her statement, she and her younger brother were playing in a room on the terrace when they got into a fight over a lollipop.

In a moment of anger, she strangled him, which made they brother unconscious. She thought her brother had died and she tried to cover it up.

She reportedly used a scarf to hang his body from a ceiling hook, making it look like suicide. Then she called for help so that no one would suspect her.

After her confession, the police registered a murder case based on the father’s complaint. The minor girl has been taken into judicial protection and further legal proceedings are ongoing.

A Family Left in Shock

The boy was the youngest of five siblings and studied in Class 2. The accused girl is the eldest child and studies in Class 8.

Their father works as a farmer.

What started as a simple fight between siblings ended in tragedy. A small argument turned into something no one would ever imagine.
